Having worked in the Transport industry for 12 years, John Medcalf wanted a fresh challenge and obtained his Financial Planning Certificate in 2000 and then his Diploma in 2012.

Working for a bank for 11 years, John offered advice to both Jersey and Guernsey clients for 9 years before managing teams internationally and in Jersey. However, meeting clients and getting satisfaction in seeing their goals achieved was what he enjoyed most and therefore he returned to offering financial advice in 2015.

John specialises in holistic advice to local clients and enjoys creating strategies to meet clients’ goals and objectives as every client has their own individual needs and requirements.

Meeting clients regularly is the most important part of the service offering to ensure that the agreed strategy is still appropriate and implements prompt action if necessary.

Outside work John enjoys spending time with his wife and family, taking his French Bulldog out for walks and is a bit of a film buff regularly going to the cinema. He is a FA Level 1 Qualified football coach and enjoys the involvement at St John FC even recently returning to playing in their Championship winning Walking Footballing team! If time allows he may even get the odd game of golf in!
